IFS Food Version 8 Is Mandatory from July 2023.
IMPORTANT!!!
Only two years after the publication of IFS Food version 7, IFS Management is preparing a new version 8, which is in its final phase.
IFS Food version 8 becomes mandatory from July 2023.
IFS Management cites alignment with the new Codex Alimentarius and ISO 22003-2 as the main reason for its revision.
The proposal for the new version 8 includes merging the existing documents and simplifying the application of the standard itself.
Some of the examples include: The review of the existing scoring system will change, specifically for the score B. This means that B is a deviation and signifies almost full compliance, and corrections and corrective actions will be required.
K.O. points may be scored only with A, B or D (=K.O.). The number of points for a B score on K.O. criteria will be 0.
The focus on the product and the process approach will be further strengthened, so that trails during the audit can be more clearly followed and monitored. The existing checklist has been revised for the accuracy and consistency of the information. Furthermore, the new version aims to simplify the completion of the mandatory data, which is largely prescribed by GFSI, which would certainly save time during the audit and the technical review.
Another important document from the IFS doctrine is also covered by changes, which will be contained and simplified due to the introduction of new software.
